What you'll learn

A two-week, machine-based short course that takes someone who already understands graphics basics and trains them to operate a complete printing and branding production floor — digital press, large format, DTF, sublimation, UV, laser engraving, foil, embroidery, and the full cutting and finishing line — safely, correctly and profitably.

What you'll be able to do

  • Check and prepare a file for production — size, bleed, colour mode, resolution, cut lines, mirroring
  • Choose the right material and machine for a given job
  • Operate the digital press for cards, flyers, posters and booklets
  • Operate the large format printer for banners and stickers
  • Produce garment branding by DTF and heat press, with correct time, temperature and pressure
  • Produce sublimation items such as mugs and polyester garments
  • Print on rigid substrates with the UV flatbed
  • Apply digital hot foil finishing
  • Engrave and mark materials with the laser machine, and recognise materials that must never be lasered
  • Set up and run an embroidery job — file, hooping, stabiliser, thread, tension
  • Cut, crease, perforate, laminate and bind to a professional finish
  • Carry out daily machine care and recognise when to stop and call a technician
  • Work safely around blades, heat, ink and electricity
  • Estimate material use, quote a simple job and control waste
